Clincals today was mediocre/sad

because I only had one patient, and I was suppose to take on THREE. So I was sort of excited to take on as many pts as I could handle, but It didn’t end up so. 

So I had one critical pt for the remainder of the clinical. Stroke pt, left side hemiplegic, admitted early today. Good pt, family members needed a lot of comfort and reiteration and I was happy to help them. His family members were so sweet. I had problems communicating with my pt because he was unable to speak clearly and was very sluggish. But within 5 hours of me being on the floor, he started regaining some motor function on his left side, starting in his toes, then his knee, and before I left the floor, his left shoulder. Apparently, his body started to miraculously heal itself. He wasn’t really on any meds, an MRI and US was ordered for tomorrow since today was a US holiday, and he was constantly in A. Fib. But it was good to see the short term improvements.

I did however get to remove a FOLEY CATHETER and then RE-INSERT a new one! :) FINALLY! After 4 quarters of waiting. I finally got to put in a indwelling urinary catheter. Yay! :)

OK, need to get up in the morning to study, because I OBVIOUSLY can’t start studying now. G’night!
